The HPV test looks for the virus (human papillomavirus) that can cause cell changes on the cervix.
The Pap test (or Pap smear) looks for precancers, cell changes on the cervix that might become cervical cancer if they are not treated appropriately.
The Cancer Antigen 125 test is vital. Conditions that can cause an increase in CA 125 include many that aren't cancerous, such as menstruation and uterine fibroids. Certain cancers may also cause an increased level of CA 125, including ovarian, endometrial, peritoneal and fallopian tube cancers.
We'll meet again to go over your results in detail. We'll explain what they mean and give you a report. If needed, we'll give you a treatment plan or suggest more tests. We'll help you set these up.
